New 10gallon

I need some ideas for a new 10 gallon tank. It is in a classroom so it can be kind of noisy. All that is in it now is a piece of rough rock and some watersprite. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Guppies are fantastic and hardy fish, as are other livebearing fish. Platys may be a good choice! My last 10 gallon found its way into a classroom, and for a long time it housed X-Ray Tetras (kids' choice: I took pictures, the teacher presented them, and the kids voted on their favorites and they made a big bar graph).

I would do a large group of microrasbora, when kept in numbers of 12+ they are actually very bold little fish. 15 of them and some cherry shrimp would make for an active colorful tank.

Thanks I don't know if the local fish shop has microrasboras and I'll have to research them. Keep posting though

I'm partial to platys, as you can get an amazing variety and everyone can pick out their favorites. Of course, they can take over a 10g in no time at all! (Fry are exciting to discover, but depending on how young the kids are, seeing mom and dad eat them could prove a bit traumatic!)

Male fancy guppies are guaranteed kid-pleasers!

Problem solved. 3 panda cores 6 ghost shrimp(one pregnant). And eventually 7 cherry barbs

Cherry barbs may not be the best choice for a 10 gal. I have not kept them but have observed there behaviour in others tanks.They would seem to need more swimming room and there eventual 2 inch size would mean that just the group of them you want would be maxing the tank out. How about a nice group of neons or cardinals?
