About finished with my tank cycle
Hello all, I just wanted to provide an update on my cycle. I tested this morning and here's where I am:
ammonia--1 ppm (it was 2.0 just last night)
nitrites--5.0+ ppm
nitrates--5.0 ppm
I have a feeling I should be deciding on fish pretty soon.

Ah... cycling... I remember it well..... Lady Hobbs walked me through the process very patiently..... VERY VERY patiently..... it took a lot out of her though.... she was last seen walking the country roads babbling something about Mith's tank... Mith's tank... Mith's tank.... then she would take a sip of something out of a brown paper bag.....
But God bless her little heart, she got me through it!

Don't want to burst the bubble but........Your only halfway done, and the nitrite phase, is very very slow. That 5ppm of nitrate could be from tap lol.

That's great, just keep an eye on everything and start adding a bit of ammonia when you start getting readings of 0ppm ammonia to keep the bacteria fed. What kind of fish are you interested in getting?

Sounds as he's doing ok here. As Lab Rat says, he needs to keep feeding the bacteria ammonia until he has 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites.
