Bettas
I recently found 7 large kritter keepers (5 gallons) for .50 ea. Of corce I got them. All brand new never been used. Can I have a Betta in a 5 gallon tank. Also could I breed them in a 5 gallon or would they need a bigger tank?

Minimum for a betta is a 5g with a filter & heater. Plants are nice too, they particulary like floating plants :))
You would need a bigger tank to breed.

I used to keep a betta in a tank that size, he was fine. Of course you'll need a filter and heater, as mentioned above.

A 5gallon will do but not for breeding.
I personally prefer a 10 for a beta !Ray

Yes you can keep them in a 5 gallon alone. And as for breeding, no don't breed in a 5 gallon. A 10 would be ideal. You have to give the female room to run away from the male or she will get seriously injured or killed.
