I have been thinking about this since the time that I set-up my 3.5g pico reef tank. Since I have set it up I have fell inlove with saltwater and just love watching my coral grow and stuff. I know that I only have one thing in there right now but it looks really cool.

So, to the point. I have been thinking about just moving all of the plants in my 10g plant grow-out tank into the 33g planted and turn the 10g into a saltwater tank. With this size of tank I could actually keep a fish in it and a bigger selection of coral. Now come a few questions, what kind of lighting could I use for a standard 10g? Something not too expensive but not cheaply made either. Most likely PC lighting or another different type of light.

With LR, could I just do what I did with my pico? In my pico I got 5-7 pounds of Dry Rock and cured it with just ammonia. So in the 10g could I get about 15-20lbs of dry rock and cure it with maybe a piece of the LR from my pico? Or should I just buy 1-2lbs of real LR from a reef store?

I would keep my pico up and running as well with the 10g. But this whole 10g saltwater tank is still being thought over.

Thanks!
