if you need mass quantities of Prime (2L), might as well go with Seachem Safe. 1 kg treats 210,984 gallons versus a 2 liter bottle of Prime that treats 20,000 gallons. The difference in price is less than $3, and 1kg of Safe is smaller in packaging.

I agree :) I've considered doing it myself but I'd still need prime for the little tanks safe doesn't measure well on 5 gallons :)

The doctors are an awesome source. I routinely pay half of LFS prices and free shipping with a small order. They were acquired by Petco BTW which surprised me.

Yeah, I loved them too until they switched my sister's and my accounts and I paid over $300 of my sister's purchases. Their excuse-two people within the same residence cannot have two separate accounts, the computer doesn't recognize this when requesting payment I call but they wouldn't refund me my money until my sister sent them her payment information-the same information she had used when originally purchasing all of those items and setting up their auto shipment. The packages she ordered would even come in my name.

I did have a auto delivery for prime that I had canceled-so they used that canceled credit card info to charge me for all of my Sister's orders over almost 8 months.

I only use them sporadically now-their customer service has slipped with Petco acquiring them and I can usually find the stuff at the same or better prices off Amazon, and I have Prime-so free shipping.

BTW they mixed up my Sis's last order-it was shipped in my name though we have 2 separate accounts with different user ID and passwords-that doesn't differentiate us in their system though...I have no idea how that works.

@Boundava that is awful! I don't use them often as yeah Amazon prime generally trumps them with free 2 day shipping and prices within pennies.

I mentioned it though as Prime is well used and super ultra cheap at the moment. Occasionally I find things that are worth buying "now " and using later. This was one of those times for me.

Yes that is definitely one reason I would make a purchase through them; and If I wasn't moving and unsure where the Prime would wind up I would get a large bottle of it it through them. My luck USPS wouldn't forward it and it would be lost in the "forwarding mail" pile, lol.

I used to love DFS, bought all of my fish/cat/turtle/wild bird stuff there. I still use them for some fish supplies (got 2 big waterproof mats to set up the tubs) and our cat's thyroid meds; vet charges .35/ea and I can get it for .20/ea. lot cheaper when you buy it in quantities of 200.

Just weird they say we can't have two accounts with items being shipped to same address.

Why not just make a small solution and measure out what you need from there? If you know "x" amount treats 20g, put x amount into a cup of water, stir it up, then measure out 1/4 cup from your solution.

    This.

I don't need huge quantities, but $12 for 10+ years of conditioner is a no-brainer for me.

Side note: my first shipment of Safe came with the bottle slightly squished from transit and some of the product spilled (maybe 5% of the whole bottle). Called Amazon and they sent me a replacement. So now I have a lifetime supply of conditioner for $12

If you go to Seachem, they recommend against making a solution ahead of time-as the Safe doesn't have the stabilizer that Prime does. So unless you are making a solution right at dosing-its not going to work.

    http://www.seachem.com/safe.php
Q: Can I mix Seachem Safe with water and store the solution to use later on. So instead of using the dry powder, I can use it pre-dissolved.
A: Safe does not have the stabilizers, like Prime, to keep it stable in liquid form. We do not recommend mixing it and storing it for future use.
