    Question Can someone tell me

What type of Cichlids these are and how big they will get?
I know the white one is an albino but what kind?
I'm pretty sure the yellow one is an Elecrtic Yellow and I have read about it.
The next pic is of the blue one and I don't know what kind it is either.

    Thanks for looking,
    Dixie

Thanks for the info. I'll go look up these new names you gave me. This group rocks!
Patrick said the yellow was probably an electric yellow (Labidochromis caeruleus)... I've looked that up and think he's right (Thanks so much Patrick ) but I will look up kenyi too to be sure.
    Much appreciation,
    Dixie

The problem with Malawi Cichlids is that many of them look very similar which is why, at least around here, many pet stores have them named wrong.

The yellow one, to me at least, does look like a Yellow Lab (Electric Yellow) but the similarites between them and a Kenyi is very similar.

As far as the blue one goes, it's a Mbuna for sure, maybe a Melanochromis Johanni?

Blue cichlid: After looking high and low, I believe you are right, Patrick. I found a pic of a Blue johanni (melanochromis cyaneorhabdos) a member of the mbuna group of Lake Malawi cichlids. It looks exactly like mine. Wish I would have seen your post before spending so much time looking lol.

White cichlid: Arowana might be right about this one. It's either a Snow white socolofi (Pseudotropheus socolofi) or an Albino zebra (Pseudotropheus zebra). From the pics of both of these I found, it's hard to tell for sure but I'm kinda leaning more toward the albino zebra as the fins on the socolofi look longer than mine, in the one pic I saw anyway.

Yellow cichlid: I saw a pic of a kenyi and it had some turquoise stripes on it's tail and fins. Maybe mine just hasn't developed these yet but I'm leaning more to it being the Electric yellow (Labidochromis caeruleus). Out of the 3 of these I have the one has a white belly so it's probably some other variation. Or maybe a different sex than the other 2.

Anyway I think I'm satisfided now as to what they are lol. My main concern was the size they will get and their care.
Another load off my mind is that in the many pics of cichlids I've looked at today, alot of them have that spot on their anal fin so I'm feeling better thinking they don't have ick. Now the one Leporinus (fasciatus), that had a spot on it's top fin and one on it's tail, only has the one on it's top fin now so maybe it was just bits of food or something stuck on it. Who knows, but I'm glad I didn't panic about ick.

    Thanks again & much appreciation,
    Dixie

Your fish are very pretty. I don't have any cichlids at this time but would love to get some in the future when I get a larger tank.
