Potential Oscar Setup
I have a Juwel Rio 240L fully standard, is this going to be good enough for a single oscar, with no tankmates. I am just wandering if the filter will be man enough

I would say just barely ok for a single oscar.FW: 1 45gal, 1 40gal, 3 10gal, 3 30gal all community tanks of different species
Sw: 1 55gal, 1 30gal show, 1 29gal show, 1 20gal and 2 10's

Normally I would suggest a 75G as a minimum but the rios footprint is 48" x 16" and a 75 is 48 x 18.
While it IS smaller.. The difference is far less than IE using a 12" [30cm] tank & does not scream "NO GO" to me.
Make sure you have some excellent filtration and enjoy your oscar.
Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.
A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

Really, stick another filter in there. Always a good idea when dealing with messy fish like oscars. Also, I've read that they like having ping-pong balls in the tank, with holes drilled in the balls to make them sink, as toys.I hate hearing people say "it's only a $3/$5/$1 fish/shrimp, so it's ok if it dies, I can just get another." It's still an animal! All animals should be treated like they're worth $10,000.
