Mating/Pairing behaviour?
As some of you may know I currently have 6 juvenile firemouths in my 48G, I'm aiming to get a pair then rehome the remaining 4.
At the moment I have one male who is no larger than 2 inches, and a female around the same size, the other 4 are smaller and by the looks of it all female. I mustve been lucky in picking them!
Lastnight I observed some new behaviour from the male, he decided to start picking gravel up, swimming to a stone then making a small pile behind it. Looks like this certain stone (rounded and around 3inch diameter) is his new territory.
So was this behaviour him trying to show off and pair with a female, or was he just being a Cichlid and redecorating?
My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

Don't really know anything about them but I do wish you good luck and I hope you have a frisky male trying to show off his home building ability and one of the females picks up on it . Good luck and let us know happens.
