How long are fish and coral ok in rubbermaid?
So I have my fish, rock and coral in three rubbermaids... all have heaters and all have power heads, how long will they be ok for?
I ask because I'm shooting to make some changes to the tank, mostly sump scrubber and possibly building a new, more size appropriate stand. Anybody any recommendations?55g Long --> After 18mo of doing well the tank crashed during moving. Most likely cause: Flatworm Die-off... won't start another until after moving... I doubt they care at all what the actual container is as long as the water parameters are up to snuff, THAT is the real measure.
My GF calls me insincere... I pretend to care.

I would think as long as the water parameters are in line (as 850 has already stated) and the corals have the correct lighting level they need, you could have then in there a very long time
I've used a rubber maid container as FW QT tank a few year ago before getting a aquarium to use as a QT tank and it worked pretty good. You just have to be careful not to have the heater touching the containerIf you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

If you want to be supper careful, make sure Container is "human food" safe. If you pay attention sometimes on some plastic products there is a clear indication not safe for food.
ie they are made out of cheap recyclable material for let say garbage can!
I have been using the Salt containers (something most of us have few) for long time and had no problem!
