Identification of my ciclid

Please help I have two small ciclids that I am trying to identify
As I think they are both trying to reproduce but I don't no what to do to help
As I have 280 litre community tank any help would be greatly appreciated I am having trouble up loading pics as away from laptop at mo so will email pics to any on how can help I will give a discription the best I can though they are about 6-7 cm a very light brown to gold colour they have a black spot on there back that can change to a black stripe horizontally and a black stripe across the head and when they are angry I guess they almost turn black all over many thanks for any help I get

Kribensis? Is the Male alot larger then the female? A picture would get you an answer.
Check out google and see what cichlid looks like yours and post the picture if your camera wont do it.

It kind of sounds like a Keyhole or some kind of Acara. But without a picture and the approximate age, it's gonna be hard to tell. There's so many different cichlids that change colours like that, and have those kinds of colours and markings. Pearl cichlids are another one, young Nicaragua. Too many to choose from!

Of my fish But no they are both about the same size and are about 8 months old also been looking on google for the last week and just can't seem to find it would up load pics here but I am useing an iPhone an cant find a way to upload

Thanks very much after u saying keyhole cicilids looke on line and that is exactly what they look like now I have found out what they are is there any advice u can give conserning the breeding requirements any help greatly appreciated

If they are Keyholes, the i'm jealous! I love those guys, and they're hard to get around here. I haven't had anything to do with keeping or breeding them, so my knowledge of them is limited. I do know, that they like to have nice flat rocks to spawn on. Apart from that, all I can do to help you out is post up a link for you to look at. You can also post up a breeding question, and someone might be able to help you out some more.

Excellent! I'm glad that you now know what to call them! Nothing worse than someone asking you, "What kind of fish is that?" And you kind of make this kind of face ----> and have to say something like, "Ummm... It's one of those fish that have scales and fins and stuff..."
