  1. Default Can Anyone Identify This Peacock/Hap?

I've been walking by this cichlid at the LFS fior the past month...I noticed him right away as he was clearly the dominant male in a 55G mixed african tank...mostly peacocks/haps with some yellow labs. I can't tell what he is? I'm getting better with identification but I'm alot better with full grown / colored adults than maturing subadults. I was thinking Stuartgranti or maybe even Protomelus...some sort of hybrid maybe? He has some orange/red on anal fin

    Default

The red on its fins is kind of telling me that it's a Protomelas Steveni (Taiwan Reef). There's so many different colours in Peacocks!

  3. Default Thanks

Based on pictures, thats probably the closest to it, but I dont think its it. The Taiwan Reef has the greenish yellow color that is perfectly carved into the body...mine looks as if the whole entire body has that color. Who knows, alot can change as time goes on.

or possibly a stuartgranti flameback [street name] or stevani, tough to say
