Are my female guppies pregnant?
Are my female guppies pregnant?
If so, for how long shall I keep her in the breeder box?

She looks to be VERY pregnant!
Apart from her size and shape; see the really dark red patch at the rear of her body, just before the tail? That's what you call a gravid spot, and that's another way to check if your guppies are pregnant. I don't think you'll be waiting long before she has the babies.

Easy way to determine if a guppy is pregnant, all it requires is 1 question.
Has your female been in contact with a male? If so then 99% chance she is now pregnant, they are mega prolific, remember their other name is millions fish
My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

Def. preggo. Just sit back and let nature happen...it won't hurt her to be in there as long as she is getting fed. Got a plan for all the fry? Your females are going to be constantly breeding. Might be best to let her out and let natural selection thin the herd if you don't have a plan.

Hi all,
Since I ve posted this thread I had a lof of activity going on in my tank, but unfortunately not very nice things happened :( I had two guppies give birth in the breeder box and almost all fry died except for 3 or 4. Now I have this strange problem which I cant get hold of.
See this photo: http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/4400/imag0553h.jpg
I ve seen this guppy in her last minutes. Her belly was looking whitish in pink and when she died I noticed that her belly was almost punctured! in fact when I squeezed it a bit, her internals popped out....its the second death in two days :((
Any help is greatly appreciated.
PS: I found both male and female dead, but the male had no sign of this problem
