is this normal colouring
i have had my rescue betta for 4 weeks now and noticed his blue fins are getting lots of red in them, is this his normal colouring or could it be something serious

looks normal to me. Bettas come in all different colors and can change colors over time.
300 gallon mega tank: build in progress
75 gallon community tank: tetras, danios, corys, platies, otos, pearl gouramis, bristlenose pleco, assassin snails, red cherry shrimp, bamboo shrimp
70 gallon growout tank: clown loaches, sailfin pleco
60 gallon goldfish tank: fancy goldfish
29 gallon frog tank / 10 gallon tadpole tank: 1 leopard frog, 1 tadpole
10 gallon and 5.5 gallon betta tanks: 1 male betta each, sometimes snails

thank you for the reply this is my first betta and he was a rescue,i got worried when i noticed alot of his fins had changed red i thought he had fin rot or something but you have put my mind at ease now, i didnt know they can change colour lol

He looks like my little stewie! He's beautiful.

Bettas seem to love changing colors... One of mine, a male veiltail named Opal, turns from green to blue to purple and varies the amount of red in his fins entirely at random and at the drop of a pin. I also have a female, named Echo, who was dark brown when I bought her, with blue and green scales down her sides, and she has turned almost completely white. She's now a light reddish-pink.
The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of the act

My bettas change colour at times as well. They are quite amazing to watch!!~Col~

5.5g: Crowntail Betta, 6 black Khuli's & RCS
5 g: Crowntail Betta, 1 albino cory (Quasi), 4 baby khuli's & RCS
7 g: Dragontail Betta & 2 albino cory
3ft Axi tank: 1 black, 1 gold - 1 redcap oranda & 2 albino cory
