I was cleaning one of my filter catridges (in old tank water) and, well, it was one of those ones with carbon built into it. The wool had weakened and the carbon was too heavy and it completely fell apart.

I've got some cycled filter media. Only, it's those cartridges sized 'small' (with carbon. I can't get away from it). The filter I'm using requires 'large'. I have it in right now, but a lot of water is passing over it without touching any of that goody benificial bacteria.

I won't be able to get any more media until tomorrow night, and then I've got to cycle it all over again ... bleh. Other than daily water changes (I'm thinking around the 50% mark), is there anything else I can do to help with the cycle and keep my fish safe?
