Phosphate are Finally Lowered!
Finally, after all these years, I have finally managed to get my phosphates below 1 ppm (often over 5 ppm with after 90% WC! and my tap water is zero.) I also used phosphate absorber but never helped very much - the discus and food waste would overpower all my efforts.
After adding all the plants to the one discus tank, I am getting a 0.2 ppm phosphate reading!
First time ever ... well, that should help with the algae issue - nothing drives algae like phosphates.Knowledge is fun(damental)
A 75 gal with eight Discus, fake plants, and a lot of wood also with sand substrate. Clean up crew is fifteen Sterba's Corys. Filters: canister w/UV, in-tank algae scrubber that removes phosphates and nitrates! Also, a highly dangerous commercial nitrate removal unit from hell

Yup. That will do it. I have to use phos-ban or similar myself most of the time. Seems when I don't, the problem returns.
