    Lightbulb Pregnant Platy?

I just bought a female Red Platy that seems to be pregnant. I cannot tell if she has squared off yet or is just fat but if she had juat over eaten her belly would be larger towards the front but it seems to be even to me? She was is a tank with about six other platies male and female. I got two other female platies today along with her and I will post pictures of all of them today. :)

Most likely all your females are in some stage of pregnancy. Congrats on being a fish "God Parent".

The Red Platy was in fact pregnant! I just came home and found three fry from her and she looks a lot smaller now. I have them in a breeder tank right now, should I keep them in there? I have another Mickey Mouse platy that was larger than her and looked pregnant, I have her in the breeder now but am only planning on keeping her in there for a few more minutes if I don't find anymore fry. I hate putting them in there because, I know that it has to stress them out...

We bought some panda platies and the females are pregnant. Still waiting for babies...two look like they are going to burst.

    Good luck with your babies.

id keep the babies in the breeder tank for a few weeks, then they should be fine to put back in with the parents without being eaten. Congrats on your babies!
