baby fish fry disappear during the night.
This was about the second week since my baby goldfish hatched. They were doing just fine Sunday night and then I found them all gone Monday morning. I couldn't even find their bodies anywhere. They were the only living creatures in the breeding tank. I did a 20% water change on Saturday and put the dechlorinator stuff in there. If they had been effected by the water change, wouldn't they have shown signs of it on Sunday? The water temperature stayed at 75 degrees. What happened?

Did you check in the filter. It is unlikely that all ended up in there, but I have heard of stranger things.
Someday, when I have all the fish tanks I want, I hope to be featured on an episode of animal hoarders.

was the tank covered? If no, do you have a cat? Thats the only thing i can think of that would make a whole batch of goldfish fry just disappear overnight.

I don't have a cat and the tank had a lid. I checked the filter and there were no baby fish in it. It is so weird! Needless to say, I'm starting over breeding my fish this next month.

Hm. That is very weird then. Between a cat and a filter idk where else they could have gone. Better luck next time then i guess!

Leave the lights on 24/7 for a couple of weeks for the next batch and let us know how it goes.
