just want to make sure it's not just for carnivores

It's formulated for bottom feeding fish.
Most plecos are not vegetarians, so the meat proteins in there will not harm them at all. Some of the pleco breeders who breed and sell, feed algae wafers and alternate shrimp sticks and earthworm sticks, with vegetables such as zucchini.
