Madagascar Rainbowfish discrepency

While shopping the local petsmart, I noticed they sold madagascar rainbowfish, and the information sticker said that the max size was 2.5 inches. Cool I thought. Maybe I could get some for my 40 breeder! I looked on google on my phone and saw two websites that had the max size as 6 inches and one that said 5 inches. Whoa, guess I won't be getting those then lol.

anyhoo, Why such a huge discrepancy? Thanks.

I never trust those placards in any of the stores. You did the right thing researching first.

I allways do my research before i go to the fish stores! I will actually ask questions on fish just too see how Knowledgeable the person is, Its good for a Laugh once and a while.

thank you all for your input! You do learn from your mistakes in this hobby which is why I researched it :) One thing about that Rainbowfish was the striking colors. Wow.
