JD's eggs disappear
Originally I was going to post to find out how big a JD had to be before they could spawn. I was going to ask because they had been acting strange lately, like acting aggressive towards the Pleco, which I had never seen them do before. Well that question was answered earlier today when I was able to find eggs inside the structure I have in the middle of the aquarium. The thing is, is that when I got home from work tonight and looked inside, the eggs were gone. I can't see anything in there now. Would they have eaten them? Just curious to see if anyone has any input on this.

I just did a round of eggs for jds. And yes they.could have eaten them or the pleco could have. All mine died also. Sorry to hear and have to say that to you.

I know it wasn't the Pleco because he would of had to flip the structure over and then stand it upright again. As able as he is at moving things around, I just can't see it. I guess he's safe for now!

Well I know what happened to the eggs, they hatched. They have kept acting aggressive towards the Pleco so I knew something was still going on. I just kept looking until I found something. I can see a bunch of what looks like mosquito larvae. Big difference between egg layers and live bearers, the live bearers would have eaten them by now! It's different having fish that protect their young instead of devouring them.

Well, I now have free swimming fry. How big should I let them get before I move them to their own tank? I'm used to live bearers, which is the exact opposite of these guys.
