What fish for a 29 gallon tank?
I have a 29 gallon tank in my office that I look at almost all day every day. What type of fish would you put in there and why?

I would keep a couple decent sized schools of fish and not just put a modge-podge of numerous species in there.
A school of rummynose and perhaps a school of Harlequin rasbora would be nice.......perhaps 10 of each. Or nothing wrong with a one-specie tank either.......perhaps all cherry barbs with more females than males.......or even all just one species of tetra's.
It actually drives me quite crazy when someone has 20 species of fish in a tank. LOLOLCycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

I think harlequins are a great idea, and add a trio of smaller cichlids.Try cryptoheros nanoluteus, any of the apistogramma's,or some dicrossus filamentosus.Add a BN pleco or a handful of otto's,and you have a great, lively community.

I have a 29gal. tank with 6 Zebra Danios, 5 Colombian Tetras, 6 Sepia Tetras. All are very hardy fish and easy to keep. Very active fish too. I plan on adding 4 Cory cats later.

How about a school of 15 barbs? Like 5 tigers, 5 green and 5 albino, they will add some varied colour but still shoal together, would be a very active tank so whenever you llok up there will always be something going on
My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

In my 29g I have 10 Harlequin Rasbora, 1 Dwarf Gourami, 11 Bronze Corrys, 1 female platy (Just removed 5 platys from the tank today), 1 male guppy (the other one died while I was gone for the weekend of old age). I also have mystery snails and assassan snails. The tank is planted.
I do have to agree with what everyone else has to say. A large school of fish would look really cool in there.Lots of tanks. Some tanks are planted. Fish include community and bettas.
