  1. Default Culturing snails?

I want to get a culture of those pesty little snails that come in on plants as my geos love to eat them and i figured they would be a nice treat for them as after they ate the snails that came in on my moss they colored up real nice and check around the moss about once every 30 seconds looking for more snails. This seems like it would be a pretty easy endeavor i was just thinking about taking a 1.5 gallon tank with a grobulb over it get my hands on about 20 of the snails and let em rip. I figure the grobulb should produce enough algae to get them going and they should take over from there right?

Your 1.5 would work, but a 10g would be better. Be prepared to supplement their diet with vegetables such as squash, broccoli, lettuce, spinach, etc. Some fish food too.

have a tank with lots of food, and you will have lots within no time.

A light and algae aren't necessary to grow snails, just an air-driven sponge filter and fish food. A rubbermaid tub would be much better than a small tank.

    ^^^^Please click the eggs/dragons, thanks.

ok, i think i might just run a rubbermaid with a sponge filter then. I just think that they might make a nice snack for my fish every so often.

I have a small tank I breed pest snails in. Just to keep my assassin snails fed, really trying to get them breeding in large numbers. The tank has a sponge filter in it. About the only thing I do is toss whatever fish food into the tank when I remember. If I trim the plants in other tanks or have some dying plant, I toss the excess into the snail tank. For me the set it and forget it approach seems to be working, very minimal effort on my part.
