My world just came crumbling down!
Well the truth perhaps isn’t as serious as the title might indicate but a big part of the inner ceiling (1/4 inch thin concrete sheets) in the house we rent did just fall down on my GF and myself. We are both fine but the dog got a few cuts and bruises and is bleeding a bit. (not to mention is quite shocked)
Hopefully the landlord can get someone over rather quick to look over the integrity of the rest of the ceiling (looks good but…) and fix the broken parts. Otherwise we might have to sleep in another room for a while and since most rooms are occupied by animals of some sort that would be less than ideal.Do as I say. Not as I do.

Oh dear William! Its good to hear that you and your GF and the dog is ok, thats the most important thing! Did it directly fall on you or did just part of it fall on you all. Hope the dog gets patched up pretty soon.

Glad you're both okay! Poor puppy though! I hope he doesn't end up with a 'fear of ceilings' issue...
That sucks...it's rare for ceilings to fall in...

Lucked out no one was hurt seriously. If the ceiling had been made out of plaster or something thicker would not have been good. Was it an old ceiling or moisture buildup that brought it down? May want to take a broomstick and rattle the ceilings in the other rooms, just to make sure they are on tight.

Those sheets are heavy enough but yes, it could have been worse. I don´t know what happened except for it being a really shitty job by the contractor they used. Now when I can look at the rest of the ceiling from the broken part I can see that much. What happens seems to be that it came loose from the concrete in one corner and than the shitty job did the rest. It has been really stormy that last few days which might have started the whole thing.
