  1. Default Just Got My First Tank at 65 years young!

    Hello Everyone,
I have just got my first tank,it is a Juwel Rio 125 Ltr.
I have added one of these sponge backgrounds which I brought with the tank and also put in gravel, a couple of silk plants and 2 live amazon sword plants, also a little coral feature and a floating jellyfish. It is filled with water, the filter and heater is on and doing it's job.It has been on and working since Monday this week. The question is this.I know it has to be cycled, but how do I do it,do I just leave it as it is (I will get an air pump on sunday to help airiate the water),do I have to add anything to the water to help the cycle, the water is clear but it will then look a little (only slightly) cloudy then it clears again.
Can anyone advise on how to cycle (if anything has to be done to aid the cycle)and how long to leave the tank without fish.
    Thanks in advance
    Kissy

  2. Default

Well when i got my tank up and running I had help by my good grampa Jhon who works at reptile land and works with aquiruim things and he suggested to let it run about a full two weeks to get the cycle up and running. What kind of filter do you have? I have a penguinbio wheel filter which is proubly the best in the market and cost me o lets just say a bunddle of 50$ bills lol. I suggest of getting BIO COAT which is to calm new fish and and help them get used to their new home. I hope this helps but please have Mr.William to help you.
