Dwarf onion?
I am trying to get good low light plants for my 55gal. (4ft hood light, two t-8 32 watt bulbs). I also have tahitian moon sand as my substrate and dose my tank with flourish and excel.
Would dwarf onions work well in my tank?
I have an offer for 50 dwarf onion plants for $40.
I like the look and would most like use them for a background plant.
Thoughts?
I plan to stock the tank with the fish in my sig (for 55g)55 GALLON

Dwarf onion plants could be hit or miss. They might need more light than you have but it's hard to say for sure.
Java ferns, hygros and anubius will work in low light without much problem.

I second the Java Ferns, and I add Anubias; most of their species do well in low-lighting situations, and they're quite beautiful.
Upload some pics when you're done so that we can all admire the tank.
