My Baby Jaguar!!
I woke up this morning and turned on the light in my 45gal growning on tank to find my baby jag approx 10cm long had spawned on a plant pot! didnt think they could at such a small size especally as there are three baby oscars in there too and a porthole catfish. Could one of the baby oscars approx 8 - 10 cm have triggered her to spawn or do you think it is just a maturaty thing? I took some pic's but as expected when i arrived home all the other fish have been beaten and the eggs have gone. Please let me no if you have had any experence of this?

Congrats Daddy Dan...lol...It is very possible that she is holding the eggs..but it is also possible that (sry to say this) the eggs were eaten by the oscars but we don't even want to think that. You may have to wait and see if she releases them. I don't know much about breeding Cichlids but there are plenty of ppl that do. Good Luck I hope all your eggs are just fine...

They were probably eaten. Breeding cichlids can be quite difficult sometimes.
