fry and eggs !
So my dalmatian mollies had a few babies the other day 3 (That I've found) i wasn't aware there was a prego fish in the tank! at least they look like tiny dalmatians.. that's i guess the good exciting news but scary as i don't have a tank divider or anything to save the babies.. but they've been around 3 days now and increasing considerably in size (i became aware of them 3 days ago).
secondly.. earlier this evening i noticed a few maybe 8 little white orbs on the side of my tank.. fish eggs? snail eggs? I'm not quite sure.. and then i was just looking around the tank and i saw a TON of more egg like things under a few of the leaves of my fake plants..as the mollies birth live, and i have no other matching pairs of fish.. so i assume somehow that it's snails? how could that be? or could it be any of my other fish ? (i have had my other fish for months so i don't see how this could be)
29 Gallon Long
3 dalmatian mollies
1 BIG Rainbow Shark
1 African Dwarf Frog
1 Platy
1 FAT corydoras catfish

what kind of snails do you have? Different species have entirely different types of eggs and different locations they put them.
Normally round dots on the glass are usually corydoras eggs, but with only one corydoras that's extremely unlikely too (unless you used to have more but lost the others recently).300 gallon mega tank: build in progress
75 gallon community tank: tetras, danios, corys, platies, otos, pearl gouramis, bristlenose pleco, assassin snails, red cherry shrimp, bamboo shrimp
70 gallon growout tank: clown loaches, sailfin pleco
60 gallon goldfish tank: fancy goldfish
29 gallon frog tank: 1 bullfrog
10 gallon and 5.5 gallon betta tanks: 1 male betta each, sometimes snails

I don't have any snails..never had any snails in the tank.. the eggs or whatever it is just appeared the past couple of days on the side of the tank and under the leaves (right near the spot they are on the glass) so they're pretty local to each other.. and there's at least 50.. and i have not owned another corydoras, and this one was relatively small when i purchased it (about 4-5 months ago) ..all elements that make me very curious...lol
*edit* : I JUST checked the tank.. and noticed that the Corydoras is laying at the bottom near the eggs. and noticed this earlier, (she?) was there but i didn't see a significance to that till now.. hmmmLast edited by OptimusPrime; 11-30-2012 at 04:30 AM.

well, if you don't have any snails then I guess we can rule out snail eggs!
Corydoras don't tend to their eggs after they lay them, so I wouldn't read anything into that. I guess it's possible a single female cory could lay unfertilized eggs for some reason. Strange.300 gallon mega tank: build in progress
