Thread: what do it do!!

Hybrid View

  1. Unhappy what do it do!!

So we have a new tank that we put my betta in, he started hanging around the filter and kept getting suck by the filter. I know that's bad, so I tried to caught him and couldn't so I left him. At that point he stayed away from that area of the tank and went lower into some of the fake grasses I have in the tank. Now, today he has a white fury look in spots and just kinda sit in one spot. I again tried to caught him and with much effort got him. I put him in a one gallon tank with bamboo and he is sitting at the bottom almost lifeless. What can I do if possible to help. I would really like to put him back into my community tank.

Sounds like a fungal infection to me, or maybe ich, though I haven't heard of ich looking furry. There are meds that can help with that, but I'm not sure which, as I was unable to save my red CT after he got fungus.

"White Fuzz" is indicative of a fungal infection. There are many fungal treatments on the market, such as Jungle Fungus cure, that will help with this ailment.

Generally, fungus appears from non-optimal water conditions, and can be compounded by stress in the fish for various reasons.
