I recently bought a freshwater eel that was supposedly born and raised in a freshwater tank and its not been eating and read it should be in saltwater how and is it possible to change the eel to a saltwater tank without killing it?

I don't know much about eels, but before you start messing around with your water parameters I would suggest that you confirm what exact type of eel you have as it sounds like you are not too sure. The below might help

You also have to keep in mind, new fish can take up to a week before they are used to their new tank, and they also need a lot hiding spots to feel safe.

If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Some species of eel migrate from seas to rivers to reproduce, the young are then raised in freshwater. They then migrate to sea . . .

Adults can't be kept in freshwater 24/7

Post a picture to help us out
    My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

Could you post a picture of the eel? Someone here could confirm what it really is ... .
    Knowledge is fun(damental)

A 75 gal with eight Discus, fake plants, and a lot of wood also with sand substrate. Clean up crew is down to just two Sterba's Corys. Filters: continuous new water flow; canister w/UV, in-tank algae scrubber!! Finally, junked the nitrate removal unit from hell.
