Feeding my crazy picky Ottos...
Okay, I've tried zuchinni, I've tried algae waifers, I've used flakes(long shot, but I tried). What in the world can I feed these guys? I'm pretty sure the algae that is in the tank is blue green algae, so they shouldn't be eating that.

Hmmm spinach.. I could try that. Is there any particular way you prepare it for them? They've been in the tank for 3 weeks now, so I'm guessing they are eating something. I just don't know what.

I just drop a little bit in right from the can, It is already mushy enough for them that way.
Happy little otos...

Sounds good to me. Do you freeze the remains, or just keep it in the fridge?

I usually eat the rest myself , but I have kept it in the fridge for up to a week. I suppose you can freeze it too.

Judge by the appearance of your otos. They aren't eating anything you provide them, but chances are, if there bellies are round and they look healthy, that they are eating algae/biofilm you don't see. Otos definitely prefer their natural foods over land vegetables so they might simply be getting enough food already.

Well that's good at least. The only thing I see that worries me is that their color doesn't seem to be as dark as I would like it.

Hmmm...they should be eating what you are trying them on...BUT, I find that mine will only eat all of this stuff with the lights off. They tend to hide and rest during the light-time, then become noticeably active after dark.
