My Hideous New Betta!
So, I'm rescuing this ugly plakat betta with an orange growth on his head. They were going to feed him to an oscar. :(
So now he's mine!
Presenting:
Two-Face the Betta

Amelia, I am posting this to warn you of the dangers bettas bring with them. 9/10 betta owners are mental. They will hoard things, from soft toys to cats. All of your fish will start to aquire names, even your corys and khulis. Your tanks will slowly morph from natural to poink with castles and gnome ornaments.
Please buck the trend and stay sane!!!
My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

I don't know what you're talking about Scotti...
On an unrelated note, I've been thinking of setting up my new 45 to look a bit like this.

Think I'm gunna go rainbow coloured gravel too though.Last edited by ameliaaahx; 09-09-2012 at 09:46 AM.

My goodness, that's an ugly betta!
Great choice of name! That made me laugh out loud!

I think it suits -- the edges of his fins even look singed!
I'm just hoping the growth is purely superficial -- I'm happy with an ugly fish as long as he is healthy.

All you need is a Penguin Tetra, a Batfish, and a Catfish, then you could have a Gotham tank!
Is he on his own, ameliaaahx? There's a disease called Lymphocystis, which is caused by a virus, that can cause fish to have horrible looking growths. It's not usually fatal, but the damage that it can cause can be. I'm not saying that that's what Harvey has, but it's worth just looking out for, because it's really contagious. Keep an eye on the growth, and look for any part of it bursting. If it does, treat him with salt, and keep his water as clean as you can. And whatever you do, keep everything from that tank away from your others.
