Help me I just won a goldfish?
Hello all.
I am a college student, and in one of those stupid little games at school I just won a goldfish. The problem is, I have no idea how to take care of it.
It's currently in the little bowl they provided me with (I know, it's terrible, I'm getting a proper tank on Sunday).
I have no idea how to go about getting things for its care. Like, what kind of tank to put it in? In the dorms I'm only allowed a 20 gallon tank, max.
Thanks in advance for the help. I really have no idea what I'm doing and I just want to take care of my little guy.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but....
You have an issue here because a 20G tank is not big enough to house your GF to adulthood.
It will get stunted and it's lifespan will be severely reduced in that tank.
Since a larger tank is not an option for you it needs to rehomed immediately.
My GF calls me insincere... I pretend to care.

You should see if a local petstore will take it or put it on craigslist for free and see if anyone with a pond will take it.

Those are comets that are pond fish. Find a pond for it or ...........? No point in putting any effort into this fish that will not even work in your tank.

Do you have a friend or relative with a large filtered fish pond? Are there any hotels or other commercial establishments in your area that have a fish pond on their premises? Try to find this fish a large filtered pond as soon as possible and get it rehomed. Best for the fish and best for you, since you haven't any idea how to care for it. You'll both be a lot happier.
