severums and dwarf gouramis
Hi
Am setting up a 90 gal. Not rock solid on my stocking yet but I'm leaning toward a pair of severums and 3 blood parrots. May also add 1 blue angel or a silver dollar or 2
I currently have 3 dwarf gouramis in a 30 gal community tank. I know. not a good choice. Actually, they are doing fine in there but I was thinking about moving them into the 90 with the severums and the blood parrots to make room for some more tetras in my 30.
So - would that be a mistake or is it possible the mix would work? These 3 gouramis give each other plenty of space and rarely have any dust ups among them. My concern is would the severums (which I will buy as juveniles) give them a hard time?
Also - would the gouramis bother either an angel or a silver dollar?
my 90 has a huge leggy piece of driftwood and several large rocks and a couple of caves. only silk plants for now but there will be plenty of them for hiding places.
Opinions?

I see no problem either. Silver Dollars should be in a larger group tho.

LOL Nobody loves my gourami's but me :o) But they are so colorful and so active and, well, cute. Fingers crossed that they don't turn into Jeckle and Hyde

You could leave one gourami in the 30 and put two in the 90.

I've never had problems with severums being aggressive I've had community fish mixed in with my severums and unless they've layed eggs theyre very mellow

I have a Green Severum that I've kept with 2 Blood Parrots. They seemed to get along well enough. Neither species is over aggressive, unless spawning. My Blood Parrots keep spawning and are rather nasty while they have eggs.

thanks for the info. Interesting that that parrots spawn - as I understand it, they can't reproduce, right, so the eggs won't hatch? They're kind of like the donkey's of the fish world? LOL
I have a photo of the tank I'm going to out them in under aquarium journals - my 90 gal. Hopefully, I'll have the tank cycled in around 3 weeks and I can start stocking. Can't wait
