shy male gbr
hi all i have had my male and female german blue rams now for about a month..i have noticed though that my male ram has got more shy as the weeks have gone by..he hides in a coconut shell pretty much all the time, whilst the female zips about the tank and is fine, he seems healthy and has gained in colour more now but i dont see him eat much, i also noticed him and the female did spawn once after 2 weeks of having them but he has got much more timid since then, all my water parameters are fine and i have very soft acidic water living in cornwall, uk which i know is perfect for rams...

He might be guarding the nest as you said they have previously spawned.

If the female GBR is larger than the male, she could be the boss at the moment. Once the male matures a bit more, and starts matching her for size, then the tide might turn, and he'll be a lot more active.
