  1. Talking starting 55g peacock tank

So, i've decided that once i find a 40 long that i can use for my growout that i'll be using my 55g for my BRAND NEW ALL MALE PEACOCK/HAP TANK .

I'm considering deepwater haps. I will definitely my OB peacock and Yellow peacock. So what breeds of peacock/hap are y'alls favorites and which would you recommend? ill probably use 2 AC 70s for filtration.
Finally reached 6 tanks... oh god, this addiction is getting serious. 75g mbuna tank, 65g gold severum, 55g OB peacock breeding colony, 30g(36x18) growout, 20 long Dwarf Alto's, 10g fry tank.
If I die young bury me in... An 8x2x2 with versa tops and a large sump for adequate filtration;)

after some research ive come up with a rough draft of a stocking list, and have moved away from all male as i could sell the fry from these fish for a good 4-5 dollars a piece.

    stocking list:
    1x male sulfur head
    2x female sulfur head
    1x male OB
    2x female OB
    1x male swallowtail
    2x female swallowtail
    1x electra (deep water hap)
    2x female electra.

Also i will be adding my unsexed OB peacock and yellow peacock from my mbuna tank. Is this stock too heavy or too light for a 55g? As i said i do plan on removing and selling the fry.

If you want to breed, pick one species and get 3 males and 9 or so females. Peacocks hybridize super easy so it's best to do a species only tank. Also, the ratios you have listed do not provide enough females per male.

yeah, after further research I realised that the stocking i chose just wouldnt work out and your response solidifies that haha:p I'll probably take your advice and do the 3:9 ratio. Maybe some OB peacocks or something more well known than sulfur heads and the like.
