Reluctantly Rethinking my stocking.
So after repeated failure with keeping cories in my tank, and then finding torn fins on my pleco, and now finding the Rainbow Shark I added in the weekend cowering in a cave, I've come to the conclusion that it's my darling Yoyo's that are the problem. Hassling my other fish while everyone is sleeping.
I'm at a loss. I love my Yoyos so much, but if they're the ones who are terrorizing the rest of the tank, then I guess they have to go...

Really? Hmm.
Well. The situation is that everything I add to the tank either turns up dead or nearly dead a few days later. Upon moving the survivors to my 30g they come right and seem to be fine. Same water in both tanks, and both are cycled so the only thing I can think of is aggression in the night.
When I added my first batch of cories I saw the Congo's chasing them, but I never saw any more aggression from them after that. It just seems suspicious to me that everyone who was attacked was a bottom dweller, which leads me to assume that the yoyos are responsible. Although it could have been the Congo's ...
I have read reports of yoyos being aggressive and nippy.

I found this article on botiine loach behavior. It states that yoyos are often aggressive to smaller fish or long finned fish. Since I don't have room to increase their school, I'm hoping I'll be able to swap the yoyos for some striata loaches which I think might be more suited.

Just an idea but you could look at different stocking to loaches? Personally I love oddball catfish, I have a Dwarf African Giraffe catfish who has the look of a giant but stays nice and small, also I really like the look of synodontis eupterus, their large fins can be a nice spectacle, both these species are very hardy and tough

I suppose. I was really dead-set on some loaches but I guess I could give them a miss. I know 0 about syno cats and the only ones I've ever seen for sale are feather fin.
The more annoying issue now is that I just rang the lfs and they won't take the loaches back. If they do they'll probably destroy them. They won't be able to sell them Incase they have diseases. Fffffffk.

Oh haha. Well it says not to keep them with any other bottom dwellers. I already have that problem with my territorial loaches!

to add to scottishfish's idea of oddball catfish, you could try upside down cats. I don't know much about them, only that they get around 3-4 inches and need a group...but they always look really cool at the petstore!
But wow, to pick on a rainbow shark, they must be some pretty tough fish!Research, research, research!
( I really should follow my own advice!)
