I can get adult discus for $75, seems decent to me.
But again, I have plenty of time to decide on this.

Yeah I'm gonna have Amano shrimp.
Got the plants today. Background will be ready by tomorrow along w/ pics.
I visited ADG, best store I've ever seen.
And I am starting to consider discus...

Getting plants very soon.
Lots of algae in the tank. SAEs will be the first addition when done cycling, for sure.
Galaxy/Rhino Pleco + a cichlid imo
I would recommend you add on another pleco to help clean the algae and an Asian Red Tailed catfish to add some activity on the bottom. Another great addition would be getting just one clown loach,...

Didiplis diandra seems like a great plant for the background to finish it off.

I have one in my 55g as well and it looks exactly the same but eh, it could be what you're saying.
I need to start thinking about ordering the 3rd background plant because everything is taking off,...
Plecos grow depending on the tank size and how much they are fed.
I've kept small ones in a 10 gallon for a short period of time and only saw .5 inches of growth a little under a year, whereas I put...

Melon sword already grew 2 leafs.
I'm watching the bottom plants, hoping they will work out just fine. I may have to add some Red Cherry Shrimp that I can't rehome anywhere else...

Set it up today.
Only thing I could think of are Sailfin mollies and some typed of killifish.
The Sailfin mollies get way too big for a 20g, and I've caught the killifish wild before and they are very aggressive,
As a response to talldutchie, I have actually asked very experienced LFS managers this question as well.
Zebra plecos are pretty hard to get, not necessarily uncommon, but extremely expensive and...
I wouldn't do any more than 2 varieties of large schools in a tank that size. You would have the room for say 4 or 5 Boesemanis if you wanted to keep them and a slightly smaller type of rainbow that...
I have not yet seen the results for myself, but a lot of people who use that with cory cats claim that it's all about water quality and feeding. If you put the food on an area without any sharp type...
Trill beat me to it.
When schooling fish are torturing their own kind, it is commonly because you don't have enough. This happens a lot with people only getting 2 or 3 Botia loaches.
Are you able to identify whether or not your GBR is a male or female?
Really looks amazing. I myself am using both co2 and excel for my new planted tank, and I'm excited for my results.
Love the peppermint BNs and just the simple, yet ideal and organized stocking in...
I kept my CAE in 5' by 7' pond. It got to about 3.5 inches in less than half a year and then it started showing the signs of aggression. Had to rehome him.
Oh and your pictures are upside down depending on the device you used to upload it.
Tank looks nice. Neat stocking, up the cardinal tetra numbers to 8 or 10 and you should see great results.
One thing you need to watch out for is the Chinese Algae Eater. They grow very fast, and...

Already signs of plant growth. Will post pictures tomorrow.
It's colors are already very decent!
And individual fish can adapt over time, which may have been the case, but your best choice is always getting the proper school.
