i'd say try the flash and shoot about 5-6in away from the glass? you should have enough play but im pretty sure you'd get some awesome pics

also one more thing, try and shoot something else in the tank that is not alive like a rock to not stress the fish from constant flash directly at them this will also help you to fine tune, rams...
