Got no faith in the new guy huh..haha its cool. Unfortunately I learned about cycling after I got the infamous "new tank syndrome." Set the tank up..threw a Betta in a day later and died 4 days...

noo noo..theres no fish in the tank, I'm sure they would have been dead by the 2nd day with the amount of ammonia that was in there..I am pretty new to this but but I do know better then that common...

Sooo I started cycling a 20 gallon about 2 weeks ago. I'm using ACE Janitorial clear 10% Ammonia Hydroxide. I used some tetras on my first 10 gallon to cycle so I'm new to the whole fish less cycle...

Ya, that was the correct reading for nitrite..not mistaken for nitrate..I did a 50% water change earlier today and just tested again, about 3 ppm. I guess Ill do another 40% now..I do have a bubble...
