ok so i finally got some fishes for my empty deserted looking 29g planted.
heres what the tank looks like now:

6 t.b's
5 black skirt tetras
4 red platys
1 guppy
3 mollies

Does the surface water of your tank move? Do you have a filter that creates a sort of waterfall (the Aquaclear ones do)? If it does, then you should be fine without an air pump :)
