I too have to deal with well water. My PH is 8.0 and pretty steady. I tried, at the beginning, to mess with it and lower the PH, but it was a losing (and expensive) battle. My fish do fine in the...

Ok...some more albinos then :)
What about an African Dwarf frog. I've always been kinda drawn to them, but I don't know much about their compatibility?
And thanks for the suggestions!

Probably is pygmy. I had originally thought they were honeys, but they don't look like them. Here's a pic.

I did try the cardinals, but they didn't do well :( I really liked...

Would like some suggestions from the pros :)
Water param. all good. PH 8.0
Thanks in advance!
What about Albino corys?
I've had mine, 3 of them, for over a year now. But my ph is a natural 8.0 and they are doing great. They are great to watch and one of my favorites :)

Happy Holidays to you too!
I'm not sure about that. I got them at Eddies Aquarium, which is pretty reputable and well known in my area. They are the only place I've seen them.
It is interesting,...

Been MIA a little while...long story, but I've checked in now and then and am glad this site is still the best!
For anyone who might remember my Flamingo Gourami, I still have the 2 I got awhile...
Well, my 2 little guys are still going strong! They survived the ick outbreak in my tank. Actually, they didn't seem affected at all. They are at least 1". Hard to measure because they dart...
Ok, 10 days it is! Thanks again :)
Ok...thanks all :)
I'm going to start by strongly suggesting that she let me come by and check the water. Since she doesn't have a test kit or anything, that should work to get my "foot in the...
Sorry...no pics, but you will get the idea.
It is a common pleco approx. 12" in a 29 gal. bow tank. It was on the back of the tank, and it's body went the entire length! Sharing the tank is a...
I am using Quick Cure, and all is going good so far. After 3 treatments: including 25% water change each time, and the heat is at 84 now, there are no signs of any new "white spots" on the rest of...
Thanks for the replies! Well, half of the "new" guys didn't make it. I lost the bala and all the tetras.
I turned the temp up a couple of degrees, and am going to turn it up again later. I...
I really didn't think so, but I'm trying to figure out how I got infested with Ich. My water parameters as well as temp. are alway stable, no large flucuations.
I have introduced new fish about 2...
It is weird that all this time later, and there is still no info on them. My two in the hex tank I had did not live very long.
I now have 2 more that I purchased at the same LFS as the others,...
Could be it wasn't fully cycled.
It's just an Albino Oscar that is dyed. There are also "Raspberry" out there.
The color only lasts a couple of months and is toxic to the fish. They usually do not live very long.
Ok, this might be a stupid question, but I've noticed in all the pics around of everyone's Oscar tanks, that they have very little deco in them. Don't the Oscars get bored with so little deco in...
I thought it sounded a little slow when I was reading other threads and how fast others have grown.
I've only been feeding him the Hakari Gold (sp?) pellets, but see that I should be mixing it up a...
Well, my big "dream" is to do just that...step it up big! I saved all year to get the sweet 55g set up I have now. :)
I would love at least a 120g tank, but right now it's not too realistic :(
I have a new 55g tank and put my 3 albino corys, my one angel, and a new oscar. He is about 4" right now.
For the longest time I've been reading how I needed at least a 55g for one oscar......so...
I've been using this one:
hope it's accurate! LOL
Wow! And I thought mine was bad with a .25 coming out of the tap!
I'd be very concerned about drinking or using that water for cooking. I wonder if one of those tap filters would help?
