I have researched panda cories and it seems they need the temperature lower than the temp needed by albino cories.
My tank is happiest at 79 degrees.
I haven't thought much about adding more...
This is what he looks like
It would be easier to find a picture online-
I've tried to photograph him before- he darts around and is gone so fast.
My best shot at taking his picture would be this evening at feeding time.
just an add on
I looked up cory catfish and it seems he is some type of striped corydora, his body colour is a red-gold with darker areas on each side.
My larger cory catfish i believe is about 3 and a half inches and he is very healthy. I feed my bottom feeders and otto cats blanched vegetables as well as algea tablets and bottom feeder...
Harlequin Rasboras are very lovely indeed.
Thank you regarding my tank- i try to keep it as calm and relaxing as possible.
How many Rasboras do you think should be together?
oh, and i'm...
So i was preparing my 30g tank to accept a GBR and now i realise after much searching and researching that is not possible in my tank.
I am now looking into compatible fish species for a 30g...
I had a fish today who has sadly since passed away that had parasites externally and likely internally as well. There is another Cardinal Tetra who is exhibiting the bloat that i assume are...

I have already taken out the carbon, done a water change and treated the tank with Prazi Pro.
The fish with the parasites on his body has died but another is very bloated- it could be...

That "one step at a time" is very true-
One of my cardinals in the tank i'm preparing for the ram has become ill with what looks to be a parasite. Now i am set back in my course of getting a GBR...

Apart from the bloated fish, no other fish seem affected but I have treated the whole tank just in case.

I don't think any of it's tankmates or the cardinals themselves are wild caught- i will have to look into that. Is that important to know?
I just did another water change, used prime on the new...

I am heading to the local fish store to look at prazipro and clout and metro. Thanks

It's getting leaps and bounds worse by the hour. :(

Did the photo post properly?

An air stone is already running.
Would either of these options hurt plants? It's a planted tank.
I will try to get a photo.

One of my cardinal tetras in my 30g tank has circular threads on it. It looks like there is a tiny blister at the centre of each circle with the white ?worm? As a ring around the outside.

I think I will return to my original plan of having just the one- Being that it is my first step into a more "intermediate" breed of fish, I don't want any of my little guys to be...

Oh, that worries me. I was originally thinking of getting one- the rams won't be the only ones in the tank. Will the GBR get nasty towards other fish if there is only one of them and it's male?
12-05-2013, 02:57 PM
The water changes are no problem- i am already doing them. :) And there are live plants in the tank.
I think i have a pretty good system in place- i have the water changes planned into each week.

It's a 30gallon tank-
The tank has been operating since just over a year or so- but i just had to empty it out to change the substrate from gravel to sand. I didn't wash anything except to get the...

Awesome! Thank you-
Next time i test i will use the Master Test Kit to determine my tank levels and i'll see where i'm at.

Oh, and i'm using API 5 in one Aquarium Test Strips.
I am also using the API Freshwater Master Test Kit (only for the Ammonia reading at this moment because my hands have been shaking in the colder...

That is exactly where my confusion lies- i don't know if my readings indicated soft or hard water.
Does the type of test kit decide what the reading is? Is there a general scale like...
