Blood Parrots found a new home at the LFS. While there, picked up 4 quarter sized locally bred Angels. All are silver with various markings. Some are spotted, leopard spotted, and others tiger...
I've already agreed they need rehomed. It will happen.
Right now I'm purging any possible parasites. Can't poison someone elses stock or allow these two to go at anything less than 100% health.
Was the female that died. She chased them. Then after a day of that, the next day the barbs continuously chased and rammed her sides. She died 30 hours later.
Same thing happened to my paradise gourami....brother took em and his golden barbs beat one to death.
Thanks, I know this. This is why I'm asking about suitable replacements.
Like I said, at the moment, they're the size of large dwarf cichilds....meaning temporary housing is not a problem.
I do have a small confession. I already have two Blood Parrots.
They've been in tank for a couple weeks. They're at about 3-3 1/2" long. I've not seen much aggression, but they do have all other...
I've kept dwarves before...I stopped BC they tend live just 3 years and by time I get them, they're almost there.
I've kept Rams and Dwarf Flag Acara. I liked the Acara, till I watched him wither...
Nice. When I beef up those Rosies, how many? Ratio would you rec?
Thanks as well for adding the Angels back into my consideration.
Though if I picked that, I would want the most natural variety in...
I'll look into those cichlids as soon as I get back home this weekend.
Didn't really think about Angels because I thought the barbs would harass their finnage. Thought about Firemouths and Blood...
Been a really busy year.
Yea Rosies need some companions to. Right now they're OK. The place I picked them up at, told us a lie and sold them as pairs. My wife picked them.
I'm sure this has been covered 100s of times. But I'm looking for a mildly aggressive to peaceful Cichlid for my 50 gal community. Stocking includes BN, Tetras, Cory and a pair of Rosey Barbs.

So the burrowing is just going through the motions and I have both variations of spike bristles. Oh well.
And don't complain too much on the leaf, LOL, was taken with a phone from back of tank,...

I'm really unhappy with these pics, but it's the best I could manage with what I had for a camera at this time. Like I said, their skittish ones today.

Given these skittish ones--it will be a chore to be sure :11:
Please don't use my suggestion, cause don't like the singer. But was thinking Axel Rose.
Love the color and fins thumbs2:
It's a maturity thing. Also maybe a male or female thing.
How long is this one?
Mine started showing maturity at 2-3"

Agreed. In my past exp., I've saved about 1/4 - 1/2 the water in 5 gal buckets, just to keep the bio-filter fed, when I put the tank back together. That way is like a large 75-50% wc. 250' is no...

So I've had these two BN's for this last year. They appear to be in the 4" range and have developed nicely. Both have great personalities and from the beginning I've enjoyed them growing.
Haven't witnessed a Snail Assassination yet, but do see him shoaling with the Cory Cat squad under the sunken rock bridge. I do see a few empty MTS shells, but do not know if my few Assassin Snails...
Way too many names!!! LOL. Got an interesting habit in mine. It likes to use the dead Apple Snail Shell as it's den. Was worried yesterday and searched all areas I could think and thought it dead....
I echo the above advice. From my exp. I have had fairly easy luck on pairing GBRs. Though while experimenting to see if a male would mate with two females I discovered some interesting things. 1. the...
Been about 24 hours and now it seems this little one has teamed up with my Cory Cats to form a pseudo school. Hoping to add at least 1-2 more of these as the shop gets them in. But with being 20.00 a...
Was wondering if anyone has had experience with this fella eating any kind of snail?
Just picked up one (shop only gets them in 1 at a time--slow seller).
Welcome to the AC

Thanks Cliff. Just hope her replacement Isabelle lives a nice long life.
