Cool! Thanks! Will have to research goby and shrimp feeding and care...

How about a clown or two and a goby/ pistol shrimp pair? I know the shrimp likes a deep sand bed... Can I go deep enough without running into anaerobic problems?

Found the sticky on nano-fish. Thanks! Good to know the clown fish will fit... That's the one my wife wants, (and I like clowns too).

Starting to think about stocking options. Here are a few examples of fish that I (or my wife) likes. Neon dotty back, Clown, Watchman goby, Banggai cardinal, Lawnmower blenny, Hawk fish. I obviously...

What are your thoughts on IO Reef salt? Seems to be the best price around... Have seen Kent also but it's a little pricier...

Thanks! I like them too! Lots of holes and crevices...

Current FTS. I think I will keep the "two islands" scape idea...

4 days and still holding water... thumbs2:
I have decided to go for the 29 for sure. If I decide that I can't trust this particular tank I will hit up Petco's next $1/gal sale...

Not so sure if I trust the 29. It made some strange noises as I was cleaning it. Almost a creaking type noise. I'm currently leak testing it on my patio, but I'm not sure I can live with the fear of...

Well, a third powerhead certainly won't break the bank... might go for the 425 nano.

Yes it's an aquarium. Will the 2 koralia 240"s be enough flow? I am considering adding an AC HOB filter as well...

So after finding a larger tank by our dumpsters to house my tree frog, I now have the 29 gallon tank that the frog was in empty and available. At this point I suppose it would be easy to swap the 29...

Picked up 2 10lb bags of aragonite for $9.50 each today. I think 1 bag will be enough, that gives me roughly 3/4" sand depth.
Total spent so far= $111.50
Might sell... might not. Don't know til you try...
I have a feeling you will find a way to make the $$ you need to get into saltwater! Good luck!!

I will certainly try not to mess up... Stay tuned for updates...

Amazon says my powerheads have been delivered...
I would think it would take a looong time to make $600 selling shrimp and moss... Maybe something like yardwork (mowing lawns, raking leaves, etc.) would get you there faster.
I know it stinks...

Powerheads should be here Friday...
I would like this to eventually be a "zoa garden", and would appreciate tips from experienced salties on planning the tank accordingly... Thanks!!

I had a gut feeling the substrate wouldn't work. Now I also have practical reasons to back it up. Thanks guys!!
Not sure on the source for LR... gotta get more supplies first before I'm ready for...

Here's a shot of the tank I will be using:
I think I already know the answer to this question, but I'm gonna ask anyway: I have a bunch of african cichlid substrate... that won't work in...

It officially starts today... I have placed an order for 2 koralia powerheads. Using my 20 long tank. Starting out fowlr, eventually gonna go reef.
Progress will be slow for a while, can't afford...

I voted money. Did research, bought books, magazines, etc... Started pricing equipment, decided it just wouldn't fit into the budget right now...
