I'd keep both filters, if the box isn't letting out much are you could try pushing more air to it then the ugf. I am assuming they are running on the same pump. You could buy a 2 way control valve...

I would say it depends on what you are going to...
I would say it depends on what you are going to do with the fry. 3 females will equal a lot of fry. My best females drop 50+ fry every 30ish days. Most lfs won't take them until they are 3+ months...

I recently picked up some of the 4.5mm NLS...
I recently picked up some of the 4.5mm NLS floating Jumbo Fish Formula. It took a few days before my Piranhas realized it as food, but now they love it.
I still use it as part of a varied diet. -
