I'm happy to report that Brownie's eye is MUCH improved this morning. :19: :19: :19: In fact, it is back to NORMAL size and is not popping out at all! Looking at him today, if I hadn't seen the HUGE...
Actually, I think his eye is better today. The swelling has reduced a little.
In looking through my arsenal of medications, I decided to try Kanaplex. I like that it "says" it is absorbed through...
OK, here's an update with tank specs, water parameters, and a pic.
-Tank size= 65 gallons
You were SOOOOOOOO right! About an hour after posting my question, the eye had begun to swell. :scry: :scry:
So, I continued with the PWC, and added the additional HOB filter to keep the water...
I was afraid of that. I don't have PimaFix, but I do have Melafix. I'm going to add another HOB filter when I do the water change. Hopefully, that will help to keep the water crystal clear...
I'd really like to avoid the Maracyn if I can, because this is a 65 gallon tank! I could set up a hospital tank, but it's not properly cycled, and it's only a 6.5 gallon long. Poor Brownie would be...

One of my serpae tetras has just about all the symptoms of Neon Tetra Disease - VERY pale color, thin, spine looks like it's starting to curve.
I don't have ANY Neons - haven't for many, many...

I initially dosed Melafix, but as you can see, it got MUCH worse. That's why I pulled out the "big guns" with the maracyn combo. And he does seem to be responding.
I hate the cloudy water from...

Thanks for the replies! An injury that got infected was my thought as well. I have a grecian urn type ornament in his regular tank that he LOVES. He practically lives in that thing! I'm wondering if...

Thanks for your reply. The water in the hospital tank IS cloudy from the Maracyn/MaracynII treatments. It will cloud the water.

I've had this rainbow shark for approximately 2 years. Love him to bits! He's in a 46 bow with giant danios, gouramis, tiger barbs, a couple of misc. catfish, and cories. This is an established tank...
