The remnants of my fry lasted to late yesterday, all victims of predation.
I shall take your advise and move one of my pairs to their own tank.
My five N.American Rainbows have formed two pairs and both have protected the eggs then fry for about a week or so. Then it almost always seems to be 'open season' on the fry and they are eaten.

Did a 75% water change last night and will buy an anti-fungal product this morning.
While I feel I'm heading in the right direction, I do not understand why the problem has only effected the one...

More info as follows:
My tank is 64 litres and I only have 4 adult Rainbows in it.
The filter is a Flavel No 2 Carbon filter . .
Although I do think I am going to address both the water...

Over the last couple of days one of my Rainbows has developed white/greyish patches on it's head/side. Photo below shows it.
I do a 20% water change about every 10 days and the last was five days...

Thank you for your post. The reason I wanted to add malawi cichlids is mainly that I was attracted to them!
