Worth it? Not really.
We have a lot of algae in our 15-gallon and probably upwards of 60 trumpet snails. They really don't do that good a job of cleaning. It's probably easier to clean the plants yourself than deal with...

I totally like the idea of a puffer. I wouldn't mind cichlids, either. Honestly, I'm a small-fish person, but I think my husband really wants a bigger fish. Maybe we'll just... -

Fish that would be okay alone in a 20 gal?
We got our new 20-gallon set up and cycled. I put a piece of driftwood and a couple plants in there. My husband thinks that since our 55-gallon is going to be densely planted an full of small fish,...

Saw 7 or 8 new fry in the tank this morning. Didn't have time to do anything about it and wasn't really planning to. When I got home they were all gone, which doesn't surprise me because they were...

Snailsplosion = high nitrates?
We just got a new Aquaclear 30 for our 15-gallon after realizing that our old filter was meant for 10 gallons at most. Ammonia and nitrites are at 0, but nitrates are 40. My snails have gone on a...

Geez. I didn't know banging on the glass could kill fish. My 3-year-old was knocking on our 55-gallon with a sippy cup, and you can believe I put a stop to that quick.
