I wouldn't advise that unless you are adding de-chlorinated water in buckets and not priming then adding water with a python, it will kill BB in the filter media thats what Chlorine does

My 50's both do the same thing, i have to prime them both and flick the impeller with a kebab stick to jump start them. its normal tap the magnet box or jump it with a pen/stick
