I wanted to add to this thread because I'm not getting much feedback in the plant section (hope this is okay)...but my crypt plant (in the front) is COVERED in some weird film/fuzz. I have no idea...
Honestly, the plant is looking so weak at this point I am scared to touch it and see for fear of destroying it.

Knightia - I get what you are saying- but I have a 2.6 gallon... and that's what I have to work with. I am obviously doing the best I can! I promise! That's why I am trying to figure out plants...

oy - and on top of it now the heater I had intended for this tank isn't working. Anyone have any ideas on a heater for a tank of this size?

I used to post a lot a few years ago (had a 55 gal and a 5 gal, both planted) but had to sell everything when we got a tiny little apartment and I went back to school so had less time...
Thanks for responding - I would definitely do fishless cycling... I can't really imaine doing it with fish... I get way to emotional when my fish die, lol.
